How to Succeed was your first musical on Broadway. Merrily is your second. What was your experience with singing and dancing before these shows?

I took singing lessons for the first time when I was on Equus because in the first scene of Equus, I sing advertising jingles, and I couldn’t do the tune of any of them. My singing teacher was like, “Everybody in the audience is over a certain age, and they know what these should sound like, so you really should hit these notes.” So I started working with him for that. How to Succeed and Merrily have been two of the best experiences of my life — but one every 10 years is a good rate for me because it’s hard!

I only added this in a Facebook story sometime ago, I first saw it as a private occasion, but also decided to add it here now since more photos have appeared online, also posted by the couple themselves. Lindsay Mendez's wedding with J. Alex Brinson took place in New York on 22nd April and Daniel was the ring bearer. There's also a photo via people.com. Below photos via The New York Times.

“It was really nerve-wracking because, until the day before [the wedding], I wasn’t the ring bearer, then Lindsay thought it would be funny because I’m the ring bearer in the show,” the actor, 34, told Variety.

We already knew that Daniel has won the Broadway.com Audience Choice Award for Featured Actor in a Musical plus Favorite Onstage Pair together with Jonathan Groff. Merrily We Roll Along has won Favorite Musical Revival.

Daniel was one of the attendees (with the other "Merrily" co-stars) at Jonathan Groff's Sardi's caricature unveiling yesterday. Also there was Fantastic Beasts' Eddie Redmayne. Merrily We Roll Along's Jonathan Groff, Lindsay Mendez, and Daniel Radcliffe performed the song Old Friends on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Catch the show through July 7th at Broadway’s Hudson Theater.

The winners have been announced for the 2024 Broadway.com Audience Choice Awards. Merrily We Roll Along has topped the list with a total of five awards, including Favorite Musical Revival.

Daniel has won Featured Actor in a Musical plus Favorite Onstage Pair together with Jonathan Groff. Congrats!

The winners will be honored at a private reception at 48 Lounge on 6th June.

Sadly Daniel did not win the Distinguished Performance award at the Drama League Awards for his role as Charley Kringas in Merrily We Roll Along. The award went to Sarah Paulson for her role in Appropriate. But "Merrily" has won the Outstanding Revival of a Musical award, congrats!

Besides all that, as announced earlier, Daniel presented, together with co-star Lindsay Mendez, the Distinguished Achievement in Musical Theater award to co-star Jonathan Groff. Photos below. If videos appear online I'll add them.

Netflix has announced the next season of new adult animated series Mulligan, which is called Mulligan: Part 2. Daniel is part of the recurring guest stars and returns as Jeremy Fitzhogg, "a feckless party boy who King Ralph-ed into the monarchy".

The series of 10 episodes premieres on Netflix on Friday 24th May. A clip has been released which also features Daniel. There are also some photos.


The synopsis:
Allegiances are tested when the grim realities of life on an empty, alien-ravaged planet start to sink in for President Mulligan and his rag-tag band of survivors. (No plumbing! No food! Movies are just plays now!) In order to rebuild society they'll have to overcome feral cub scouts, a cruise ship with a deadly secret, and each other.
