Variety is exclusively reporting that A24 has the North Americans (US) distribution rights to Swiss Army Man. After the premiere last Friday at the Sundance Film Festival it became one of the festival’s most talked-about titles. Here's a review from Filmmaker magazine.

Daniel visited Hamilton the musical on Broadway yesterday and also was backstage to meet Lin-Manuel Miranda. He did share the following photo via Twitter. While Daniel was backstage he predicted which Hogwart's house he thinks Alexander Hamilton would belong to.

I asked this nice young man how he'd sort Hamilton at Hogwarts.
His answer: "Ravenclaw. Definitely."

Another (late) post regarding day 3 at the Sundance Film Festival. Daniel did attend the Indiewire in Conversation panel at Chase Sapphire on Main on Sunday 24th January together with Daniel Scheinert, Dan Kwan, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Paul Dano to promote Swiss Army Man.

Yesterday was another day for Daniel at the Sundance Film Festival in promotion of Swiss Army Man. Let's start with a post with interviews.

Daniel is one of many celebrities who have signed the hood of a 2017 Acura NSX. Daniel signed it  yesterday during the Swiss Army Man premiere party at the Sundance Film Festival. It will be auctioned off to raise money for the the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation.

Dozens of celebrities -- including Daniel Radcliffe, Maya Rudolph, Danny DeVito, Erykah Badu, Nick Jonas and Robert Redford -- signed this Acura #NSX hood at the Sundance Film Festival last week. The unique artwork garnered $10,800 in an eBay for Charity US auction, and generous eBay shoppers added more than $23,000 in donations at checkout. Grand total = $34,135 to help cure the kids!

Yesterday was the first day of the Sundance Film Festival and it started off with promotional portrait sessions for Swiss Army Man at the WireImage and Getty Images Portrait Studios hosted by Eddie Bauer with writer/director Daniel Scheinert and Dan Kwan plus co-stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Paul Dano at Village At The Lift in Park City, Utah.

I got the news via Twitter that Daniel is on the cover of XL Semanal magazine and features an interview in promotion of Victor Frankenstein and photos by Sarah Dunn. You can read the interview (in Spanish) here. Twitter post with a mention to Daniel J Radcliffe Holland:

I'm sad and shocked to hear the news that Alan Rickman, Daniel's co-star known for his role as Severus Snape in Harry Potter​, has died today at the age of 69. A family statement (via the BBC) said: "The actor and director Alan Rickman has died from cancer at the age of 69. He was surrounded by family and friends." R.I.P. Alan Rickman.

Daniel was among the first to pay tribute (read the tweets from J.K. Rowling: part 1 | part 2) with the following statement on his official Google+ page:

"Alan Rickman is undoubtedly one of the greatest actors I will ever work with. He is also, one of the loyalest and most supportive people I've ever met in the film industry. He was so encouraging of me both on set and in the years post-Potter. I'm pretty sure he came and saw everything I ever did on stage both in London and New York. He didn't have to do that. I know other people who've been friends with him for much much longer than I have and they all say "if you call Alan, it doesn't matter where in the world he is or how busy he is with what he's doing, he'll get back to you within a day".

People create perceptions of actors based on the parts they played so it might surprise some people to learn that contrary to some of the sterner(or downright scary) characters he played, Alan was extremely kind, generous, self-deprecating and funny. And certain things obviously became even funnier when delivered in his unmistakable double-bass.

As an actor he was one of the first of the adults on Potter to treat me like a peer rather than a child. Working with him at such a formative age was incredibly important and I will carry the lessons he taught me for the rest of my life and career. Film sets and theatre stages are all far poorer for the loss of this great actor and man.

I like this photo. It was taken, if I'm not mistaken, while rehearsing a scene where Alan clipped me and Rupert round the back of a head with a book. We all, apparently, found this hard to do without laughing".

Daniel has mentioned his name couple times before and has said he is his hero: one of Britain's most controversial and critically acclaimed poets, Tony Harrison. A complete collection of his poems will be published for the first time on 7th April this year. The title is Collected Poems and a quote from Daniel is featured on the cover.

Daniel did spend New Year's Eve with his girlfriend Erin Darke in Detroit attending the Detroit Red Wings ice hockey game at Joe Louis Arena. He was already photographed wearing a shirt/hoodie with the Red Wings Logo in 2014 and 2015. After the game he did spend some time with Tomas Tatar, Gustav Nyquis, Darren Helm and Brendan Smith in their locker room. Another photo here.
