The final Harry Potter DVD arrives
The movie was absolutely amazing, and I am very excited to get my hands on the DVD with deleted scenes, audio commentary and much more extras! (it is 16th November available here in Holland). I guess you all are too! Daniel Radcliffe first came onto the screen in 2001, 10 years ago. Many of us have quite literally grown up with this sprawling movie series and it is quite weird that there will be no more Harry Potter films. Thankfully we will always have the DVDs!
It will also be quite sad to know we will never see Daniel Radcliffe in the role that made him so famous anymore. He was a fantastic Harry Potter, and we got to see him grow up on the screen. (remember the speech of Emma Watson at the DH part 2 London premiere?) "You were and are the perfect Harry, and will be"
But don't fear, with movies like The Woman in Black coming out February next year we are in for many more films featuring Daniel. In a way I’m glad Harry Potter has ended as it means Daniel will be free to pursue even more exciting new projects, which I personally can’t wait to watch!

Producer Brian Oliver talks The Woman in Black
Collider has posted a new exclusive interview with producer Brian Oliver (President of Cross Creek Pictures) He revealed that the plan with The Woman in Black was to get a movie star and model the film after successful genre horror pics The Sixth Sense and The Others. The producer also said that they almost made The Woman in Black in 3D, but ultimately decided against it.
“We got involved with The Woman in Black early on during the development stage when they were just talking to [director] James [Watkins] and there was no cast. We all talked about who we felt would be a good person to play that role and we all decided that if you get a movie star to be in a genre horror movie it’s a nice fit. It brings something and then you can market the movie with a movie star, but also the horror movies market themselves. So we kind of tried to pattern what they did with The Others and Nicole Kidman and what they did with The Sixth Sense and Bruce Willis. We felt that having a legitimate movie star in a genre piece is a nice piece of business. I actually owe a lot of credit to Simon Oakes, who was very instrumental in getting Daniel Radcliffe attached. I think that Daniel really liked James and they really had a good meeting. So I think that it was a blessing. It is pretty great to have Daniel Radcliffe after the last Harry Potter film in a genre movie.”Would have been great to see TWIB in 3D.. expecially a horror..but well I think we all will enjoy it anyway!

Daniel Radcliffe talks the Woman in Black + potential projects for 2012
“There are lots of things lined up for next year, and one of them is very funny.
“But I would love to do Shakespeare, I’d love to do Orton. But what I’d love to do more than anything else is a new play that’s the one really creative process that I’ve not been involved in.”
On working with his real life godson Misha
Misha in turn thinks working on the film was a game.
Daniel explained: “We were on a night shoot and it was 10 o’clock at night and it was cold. “He was not happy and he was not having any of it, and wanted to go home. “I said, ‘Mischa, no, it’s okay, we will make it a game, I really need you to help me by doing this.’ So he thinks he’s doing me a favour, which is awesome, but he’s got a really great attitude towards it, because he’s now just fantastically arrogant about it.
“He’ll go, ‘Yes, I’m probably going to better than you in the film Dan.’
“I’m like, ‘Yes Mischa, you probably are. But he’s fantastic.”
Dan's friendship with Rupert, Emma, and Tom.
And certainly he and the other young cast, in particular Rupert Grint and Emma Watson who played Ron and Hermione, are close to his thoughts as are other cast members such as Tom Felton, who played Draco.
He said: “We are all just very supportive of each other, as you would expect I suppose.“They all come and see me and I’m excited. Rupert has just been finishing a film, Tom has got loads of films coming out as well as Planet of the Apes, Emma has just finished The Perks of Being a Wallflower. We all keep in touch.”
