Daniel, Emma and Rupert urging youngsters to read as part of the American Library Association's READ campaign. The posters have been released on the ALA's website (where the posters can be purchased, sale starts 18th October).

For more than a decade, J.K. Rowling has captivated imaginations and inspired a generation of new readers with the Harry Potter series. Soon after learning at the age of eleven that he is a wizard, Harry Potter attends Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Here, he meets his best friends, Ron and Hermione, Headmaster Albus Dumbledore, and a cast of eclectic teachers. While Harry, Ron and Hermione navigate the joys and hardships of growing up, their adventures in the wizarding world become darker and more dangerous.

On November 19th, the final installment in the series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, comes to the screen in the first of two parts. As the three friends race to find the Horcruxes that are the secret to Lord Voldemort’s power and immortality, the Dark Lord’s Death Eaters wreak havoc on the wizarding world. As the war wages, Harry Potter draws closer to the task for which he has been preparing since he became “the boy who lived”: the ultimate battle with Voldemort.

Daniel Radcliffe promoting the Harry Potter Join the Final Battle Facebook campaign.

Tomorrow marks Chile's 200th year of Independence, and Dan, along with several other public figures, took the time to send a video message of congratulations and support to the Chilean people.

"Hola Chile, I'm Daniel Radcliffe and I want to wish you a happy 200^th birthday. I know that it has been an incredibly difficult year in Chile due to the earthquake, but obviously we and the rest of the world know that you are showing tremendous bravery and are pulling through and I just want to say, from all of the Harry Potter gang, cast and crew, well done, and best wishes for the next two hundred years".

Earlier today, Daniel was spotted at the private showing of The Big Issue: Lizzie Mary Cullen in London, England. But it was alrady announced that he would attend. All proceeds from this exhibition will be donated to The Big Issue. Lizzie worked on the Harry Potter films as a production assistant prior to venturing into the art world. Photo below via Flickr.

As for his “Harry Potter” roots, Daniel joked that he’s planning to return to the film series when it comes time to remake them.

He explained, "I will be sad to finish the series, but I will feel a great sense of achievement when I finish the film 'cause it will be the longest shoot I will probably ever do in my career. And hopefully we'll all stay in touch. We'll probably all play teachers in the remakes in 30 years."

Stephen Fry spoke with Radio Times about why he asked Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe to be a guest panelist for the Halloween special of QI, which will focus on "lots of Hobgoblins and Hogwarts-type things.".

"He's a very bright chap and he has what it takes to be a guest on QI, which is to be curious. Because if you are curious, a) you will be interested by what's coming and you fire off it and b) in the rest of your life you will have garnered odd facts. Not in a sort of anal 'I collect trivia sort of way', but just because you are curious."

The H series of QI begins on September 17th on BBC One; Dan's Halloween episode will air on October 29, 2010.

It is announced earlier today that filming for Dan's supernatural thriller The Woman in Black would begin on September 26, 2010 at Pinewood Studios, the same location many scenes from the Harry Potter films, especially Deathly Hallows. Hammer Films, who is producing the movie, confirmed the start date via their official Twitter  (thanks snitchseeker.com)

“We were doing auditions for my son yesterday which was bizarre,” the actor exclusively tells Total Film. “But it’s very exciting and James Watkins is fantastic. He might kill me for telling you this, but he’s actually started working with an acting coach to give him a better idea of how to approach stuff with actors.

“Which is a brilliant thing – I don’t know of any other directors doing that. He’s inspired and we’re uncannily on the same page about the film. We met and we agreed that this film is not a scary movie but a film about loss and family and grief.”

Not realy Dan related, but here some promotion for a great event (with co-stars). This year there will be a Magic Christmas convention from 18-19 December, 2010 at le Maison internationale in Paris, France. The event is hosted by Spotlight Events.


Some Harry Potter actors will be in attendance: Tom Felton, Chris Rankin & Matthew Lewis and there are meet and greets with them.
